Goddess in the Bavarian Garden

by Farrah Sarafa | 2009

Her smiles are sweet like Bavarian roses
with ice cream residues on her full, upper lip.
She gives the gifts of kisses
 that like Kites travel miles
       for home—

and yet we still dream of her.

Mother-breasted, she drags her short fingers
along the head of the bronze swan statue
     in Ludwig’s garden.

Her hair curls bounce as she dances,
   sweet like cinnamon
      my best friend, my Sun.
